But when Viserys later fathers a son, the court is shocked when Rhaenyra retains her status as his heir, and seeds of division sow friction across the realm.

Episode 3
Following the dramatic events of Episode 2, Rhaenyra Targaryen has achieved her long-sought goal: she has taken King's Landing and sits upon the Iron Throne . However, the victory is far from complete. The Greens are fractured but still dangerous. Aegon II has escaped the capital with Larys Strong, preserving a viable claim to the throne, while Aemond Targaryen has established himself at Harrenhal, where he has encountered the mysterious Alys Rivers . Otto Hightower was executed by Rhaenyra's own hand in the previous episode. This episode is expected to be a more character-driven hour, exploring the immediate aftermath of Rhaenyra's conquest . The central tension lies in the shift from winning the throne to ruling from it .
